Wood Pellets for Heating Equipment

BY James Wang

Wood pellet systems of heating have four major components namely bulk storage unit (referred to as hopper), burner, and pellet conveyor (that is referred to as auger), for the transferring of pellets to the burner from hopper. The systems also have controller which has the main role of responding of not only the home’s thermostat but also automates the system. Wood pellet technology is comprised of wood pellet burner which can be mated in to the furnace or boiler of a system that is in existence.

You should simply swap swap the old oil burner from the boiler or furnace and then set the wood pellet burner in its ideal place. The process simply involves the unscrewing of bolts to remove the old oil burner and the screwing the wood pellet burner. The wood pellets for heating equipment must be of high quality. They should be of the desired size and must have the right moisture contents. If you decide to manufacture them at your home, you should ensure that you acquire pellet making machine or pelletizer that is approved by the relevant authorities such as the United States EPA.

Depending on your budget size, you can choose pellet mill that has storage bin which makes it capable of holding pellets that are worth one week. For effort free heating you can even acquire a mill with large bin that is capable of holding enough pellets for one full month. The hopper for bulk storage should be sealed completely so as to ensure there no emission of noticeable dust.
