Wood Pellet Industry in 21st Century

BY James Wang

Wood pellet industry has realized tremendous growth in the 21st century. The reasons for the robust growth are very many. First, there has been growing concern bout the effects of the human actions to the environment. Although the burning of fossils produces energy that helps provide many services and products that are required for the survival of humanity, there are negative effects associated with such activity the leading one being pollution of the atmosphere that leads to the accumulation of carbons dioxide to the atmosphere.

21-centuryThe development of wood pellet making machine has taken the pellet technology a notch higher. With it, you can create pellets and use them for the provision of energy for heating, provision of hot water among other domestic uses. In general, pelletizer includes the production, supply and the use of other equipment for combustion. The world champions of wood pellet in 21st century are Sweden, the United States and Canada. Being an innovative and renewable energy source, if the pellet mill uses source such as clean waste wood or woodland that is sustainably managed, the pellets are highly recommended because they are fuel that is carbon neutral.

Carbon neutral refers to the scenario whereby the tree compensates the amount of carbon dioxide that it produces when it burn with the amount of the same gas that it absorbs during its life time. There has been rapid development of pellet equipment technology from 1970s on wards in the United States and from 1980s onwards in Sweden.
